Kitchen and Bath

Decades-old thermoforming of cabinet doors bears little resemblance to current day surfacing of cabinet components with RENOLIT 3D Laminates for two reasons: radical improvements in the physical properties and visual appeal of today's advanced 3D Laminates, and innovative methods employed to manufacture and surface components comprising kitchen, bath and other residential cabinets in their entirety.

Today's RENOLIT 3D Laminates for kitchen and bath are typically vertical grade finishes available in a wide range of patterns and colors often with matching leading TFM and HPL designs availability.

And while thermoforming once implied only "white 3D Laminate" chosen primarily as a substitute for paint, the diversity and extraordinary realism of RENOLIT  woodgrains now enable manufacturers to offer the grain patterns of premium, quarter-sawn hardwoods (not shaved veneers) and finishes from high gloss to satin finish and from smooth to highly grained in texture. Together with metallic, abstract patterns and a range of trend colors, RENOLIT 3D Laminate enables manufacturers to simulate the appearance of virtually any traditional material and/or finishing method.

5-piece doors are growing in significance. Stiles and rails are profile wrapped while center panels are pressed if raised or flat laminated if flat. RENOLIT 2D Laminates fit the need for profile wrapping and flat laminating and can be used with exact matching our 3D Laminates on pressed drawer fronts and center panels.

Unlike the frameless construction popular in Canada and Europe, kitchen design in the United States remains mostly full or partially framed. Here is another excellent opportunity to use a perfectly matched 2D Laminate and 3D Laminate.  Wrapping face frames with 2D Laminates not only gives a perfect match to the door, but provides the same durability for the entire cabinet front.

For refacing cabinets with face frames, a perfect match for cabinet face frames is provided by adding phenolic backer to the exact RENOLIT 3D Laminate making up the door and drawer fronts. This replaces traditional HPL that is typically used in refacing. Pressure sensitive options of our 3D Laminates are also available on the market.
